To date, I have five non-fiction books under my belt with one more on the way in March 2017. Back when I first dipped my big toe in the non-fiction waters, there were not thousands of “how to” books on writing. I had to put on my thinking cap and figure it out on my own.
To write what you love and to have people spend their hard-earned money to buy it, I’ve discovered two things you must do BEFORE you write.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO WRITE?
This is important. No one likes to do anything that they do not want to do. Writing for most people is hard enough to do without tackling subject matter that doesn’t appeal to them. For years and years, I’ve had some of my peeps beg me to write more books on Gypsy Magic or take my screenplay, ‘The Black Triangle’ and convert it into a book. Neither appeal to me, therefore it will almost take an act of congress to get me to do either right now.

WHAT DO YOUR CUSTOMERS WANT TO READ?
Without customers to buy your book, all you’re doing is writing for yourself. If you want to make money with what you write – writing for yourself only is a pretty bad idea.
For as long as I can remember, I have had people want me to write more about souls and soul mates. After I wrote the book about out of body sex, I had questions about the soul group behind the scenes. This is what my customers want.
How do you know what your customers want? You ask them.

My book in October combines my love of souls & soul mates + the soul group. I wrote what I wanted and I took my customers wants to heart. I have a good feeling about “Soulful Connections!”
