The morning sets the tone for the rest of the day.

How do you spend your day? On the offensive or the defensive?

How do you start your day? Do you check email or jump on social media? Is coffee and Facebook your morning – or are you taking care of the family?

Or do you start your day with self-care or by being creative or meditative?

If you answered yes to the first way, then you start your day on the defense – you’re reactive.

If you answered yes to the second way, then you start your day on the offensive or proactive.

How you start your day tends to carry over to the majority of the rest of your day.

If you’re reactive most of the day, you’re living through other people’s demands.

If you’re proactive most of the day, you’re living through your demands.

It’s not selfish to be proactive. It’s prudent in order to live the life you want to live.

So, for your 60 second motivational minute for today…

Spend the first 30 min out of bed for you. No smartphone, no social media or email. Just you. If you have to get up 30 min before the house wakes up to get this proactive time, then do it. You & your life will thank you for it.
