What do when you get out of bed?
“Morning is an important time of day, because how you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have.” – Lemony Snicket
Is it a haphazard time of sometimes you go to the bathroom first, then maybe make coffee, sometimes you head into breakfast, or fire up the computer?
Or do you have a set routine? For instance, I get up – take care of the upstairs cats, come downstairs, hit the bathroom, let the dogs out, take care of the downstairs cats, feed the dogs, make coffee, and then turn on my computer – every single day.
What you do or don’t do in the morning can set the tone for your daily productivity.
So, for your 60 second motivational minute for the week…
Having a morning routine can help you gain motivation to propel you into the rest of your day. Knowing what to expect and knowing that once it’s done what comes next will help you stay productive. Changes in your routine can make it difficult to think clearly and that can throw a wrench your productive gears. However, doing the same general activities in the same order can help you get going and stay going.
