Have you ever had your heart broken?
There are many ways to experience heartbreak: romance, family, friends, co-workers, the US govt.
I can’t imagine that anyone who is listening to this hasn’t had their heart broken.
It hurts like hell. I can’t believe that it doesn’t kill you. It should kill you. But it doesn’t.
What it does though is give you the hot stove treatment. You learn when you’re young that if you touch a hot stove it’s going to hurt like hell. The odds of you putting a hand on that stove again is pretty slim.
So when you’re hurt like hell with heartbreak, a natural reaction is to pull back and keep you safe from reliving that kind of pain again.
But what kind of life are you leading if you don’t allow yourself to love? No human can survive in isolation.
So, for your 60 second motivational minute for today…
Reach out to someone, anyone, to form or reform a connection. A connection is the first step in allowing love back in.
