To lube or not to lube – that is the question. Is it good for you? Can you do it too much? Should you live your life without lube?
A few weeks ago I read an article from a popular sex expert who said that no women need lube. It doesn’t matter if you are in menopause or suffer from Vaginismus. I honestly don’t remember if she mentioned anal sex. God I hope not. Anal sex with no lube is a no go – a no go no matter what.
If you have any kind of vaginal dryness—whether naturally, due to medical complications or just because you’re post menopause—lube is like a gift. Sex becomes so much easier with it. –Dr. Dorree Lynn
But the theme of the article was it’s a no lube world. I think stating that is a disservice to women.
Granted – if you’re young (pre-premenopausal) & healthy – the only three reasons to use lube are:
- With sex toys.
- For anal sex.
- Slippery sex is a turn-on.
And it doesn’t matter what stage of life you’re in:
Flavored lubes can make oral sex much more fun, and are safer than using whipped cream or honey, which can cause infection. –Charlie Glickman, Ph.D.
I have worked with energy most of my life. At age 47 and premenopausal, lube isn’t a must-have every time – but it is nice every once in awhile. I’m sure as I age and my hormones change – I will use more. I know – TMI – but if I work with energy ALL the time and my “thing” is sexual energy and I still need it at times. So what happens to women who don’t spend so much time working with energy?
Every once in a while you’re going to need lube!

To answer the 1st 3 questions I asked at the top of this post:
Lube is good for you.
There is no such thing as too much lube.
You don’t have to live your life without lube – if you don’t want to.
Using lube doesn’t mean you are putting horrible chemicals into your body. There are organic & natural lubes on the market. Plain coconut oil is one of my favorites.
Here is some of my other “go-to lubes”:
To lube or not to lube is completely up to you. But you DO have a choice & you are no less a woman if you say YES to lube!
