Other than socks, panties, t-shirts, sex toys, etc…? Well, maybe the sex toy part is just in my drawers, although I doubt it 😉
Drawers is where we hide things we either do not want anyone to see or we want to ignore. Closets are famous for this too.
What do you put in your drawers (actual or psychological) that you want to hide?
For me it’s:
- Books I’m writing
- Screenplays I’m writing
- New services I want to put on my web site
- My desire to start a no-kill shelter
- Getting back into shape
- Love – the romantic kind
So why do I/we do this? Why hide anything?
- Fear of rejection
- Fear of hurt
- Fear of disapproval
- Fear of success
- Fear of change
- Fear of exclusion
What do all of the above have in common?
FEAR!That tricky bastard.
It runs our lives!
If you think about it:
We’ve all lived through at one time or another. And guess what? The key is – WE LIVED THROUGH IT.
I’m 47 this year – that’s 3 years from 50. How much longer am I going to allow fear to dictate my life? I’m not getting any younger — and neither are you!
How do you kick fear to the curb and remove stuff from your drawers?
By remembering that like everything else – fear is energy – and by allowing that energy to pass right through us.
Instead of freezing or tensing up when we think about those items in the drawers, we relax our shoulders – take a deep breath – and allow the fear to pass through us. For many of us, we will have to do this repeatedly as we take the item out of the drawer and proceed to work on it.
So to remove fear from your life & clean out your drawers, remember to…
RBP: RELAX (shoulders) – (deep) BREATH – PASS (through)
(lather, rinse, repeat)
So what’s the first thing you’re going to remove from your drawer? Let me know in the comments below.
Go clean out those drawers!
